On their very first date, Erin and Matt went together to their senior prom at Drury Lane. A little over 9 years later, their story came full circle as the newlyweds walked into the same ballroom doors, but this time, for their wedding day. I met Erin 3 years ago when she was a bridesmaid for Sara and Mike's wedding. Since then, I've had the pleasure of seeing her at other weddings as both a guest and a bridesmaid. We've kept in touch since and I was THRILLED to hear from her shortly after Matt popped the question. Lucky for me, just about all of Erin's bridesmaids consisted of some of my very favorite clients from weddings past, one bride who I will be working with next year, and several bridesmaids with familiar faces. These ladies were a dream to work with you and I had so much fun catching up with them. After assembling bouquets and getting dressed, the ladies headed to Saint Francis Xavier for the ceremony. This is such a stunning church and makes a beautiful setting for weddings. After a sweet and traditional ceremony, guests cheered for the bride and groom as they made their grand exit down the stone steps and to their special transportation: the Boilermaker Special. It was awesome watching this train/car drive and "choo-choo" all around town. It turned some heads, that's for sure. ;)
After the ceremony, guests gathered at Drury Lane for cocktails, dinner and dancing. As Erin and Matt were introduced into their reception, members of the Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald Society, lead by Matt's father, marched into the room to perform in celebration of the newlyweds. Every single person in the room was on their feet as Erin and Matt danced along with the 30-something piece bagpipes and drums. This was, hands down, my favorite part of their day (read: I really like the bagpipes). It was certainly a wedding first! Thank you SO much Erin and Matt! I loved working with you two and am so excited for you both. I hope you enjoy these photos!
