Favorite Friday: Kinzie Street Bridge

Chicago Wedding PhotographerKinzie Street Bridge

Back when I was working a full time marketing job in River North, walking across the Kinzie Street Bridge was a part of my daily commute. And I loved it. I'd try to take a moment each day to look out across the Chicago River and remember how lucky I felt to be in one of the greatest cities in the world. Before I even officially moved to Chicago, this spot quickly became a favorite of mine for portraits.

It's not just about the bridge. The area surrounding Kinzie and Canal has plenty of that industrial, urban charm that I just love for photos. I especially enjoy the contrast of a formal wardrobe against the gritty concrete texture.

Plus, the surrounding old brick buildings and overhead train tracks add plenty of character to the setting.

But let's not forget about the views from the river! Hello Chicago!

Oh, and PS - The whole area usually smells like heavenly, delicious chocolate. I'm not telling you how to live your life, but if you don't take your engagement or wedding pictures here, you should at least do a walk through on a weekday evening. ;)
