Montrose HarborChicago Engagement & Wedding Photography
Montrose Harbor is not only one of my favorite places for engagement and wedding portraits, it's a place where I spend quite a bit of my free time. When I moved to Chicago over 5 years ago, I fell in love with the beautiful beach, lighthouses, prairie, sandy hills and stunning views of the city. It quickly became my go-to spot, and you can often find me there in the mornings running on the lakeshore trails or sitting along the harbor looking at my favorite view of the city. It didn't take long for me to realize how beautiful Montrose Harbor would be as the setting for my client's portraits.
I love recommending Montrose Harbor to couples looking for a nature-inspired setting within the city of Chicago. One of my favorite, and lesser known, spots is the Bird Sanctuary. Once you walk into this nature retreat, it feels like you have completely left the hustle and bustle of the city. It's quiet and calm and beautiful. And for those of you who might be a little camera shy, this location is generally more on the private side. No need to worry about large crowds watching. It's mostly just a bunch of bird watchers over here. ;)
The prairie and beach grasses found throughout always excite me for photos. Something about the combination of the golden hues and sunshine creates magic.
This location is beautiful year-round. Even during the colder months, it maintains it's beauty.
I hope you enjoyed this week's Favorite Friday! If you missed last week, feel free to visit here. I look forward to sharing another favorite portrait location with you next week. Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!
